Reson Lamar Holt Sr

Reson L. Holt Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on March 24, 2025, in Highlands County, Florida, at the age of 62. Born on August 31, 1962, in Naples, Florida, Reson was a proud resident of Hardee County since 1976, having moved from Norman, Oklahoma. Reson served his country honorably as a field artilleryman in the United States Army, where he earned numerous accolades, including the Army Commendation Medal, Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Medal, Expert Rifle, NCO professional development. His dedication to service was a testament to his character and commitment to excellence. A devoted member of the New Vision Worship Center, Reson found joy in his faith and community. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hobbies such as golf, fishing, hunting, woodworking, and panning for gold. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family, always going above and beyond to spoil his children , grandchildren, and family. Reson was married to his loving wife, Sandra Holt, for 44 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter. He is survived by his children: Reson Holt Jr. and his wife Aislynn of Haddock, GA; Michael Holt and his wife Mariana of Richmond Hill, GA; and Kimberly Lanham and her husband Josh of Zolfo Springs, FL. He is also survived by his brothers, George Holt Jr. of Park Hills, MO, and Tim Holt and his wife Pam of Wauchula, FL; his sister, Phyllis Mather of Wauchula, FL; and Carol Tallant of Snellville, GA, along with several nieces and nephews, his mother Bonnie Merritt Holt, and his father-in-law, Lawrence Tallant. Reson was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Holt, and his father, George Holt Sr., his grandparents, and 2 grandchildren Reson's legacy will live on through his 9 grandchildren, who will forever remember the love and joy he brought into their lives. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the New Vision Worship Center, A celebration of Reson's life will follow at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Rod Cannon officiating. He will be laid to rest at Oakgrove Cemetery.
