Florence Mae Izzo

Florence Mae Izzo passed away at her home in Bowling Green, Florida on Sunday December 9, 2018. She was born January 15, 1932 in Plattsburgh, Clinton County, New York. She graduated in 1950 from Johnstown High School, Johnstown, New York. In school she ran track and played on the girls’ volleyball team, served as a pitcher for the girls’ baseball team and was a lifeguard at the local YMCA. Florence was a 1985 graduate of Fulton-Montgomery Community College, Johnstown New York and was on the Dean’s list with an associate degree in Business. She was born to Anson Sr. and Mary Casavoy of Johnstown, New York, deceased 1973 &1992 respectively. Florence Married Robert G. Izzo September 27, 1952 at the former St. Patrick Catholic Church, Johnstown, New York. Robert passed away July 5, 2008. In Bowling Green, FL. She is survived by Son Michael R. She relocated to Bowling Green Florida in 2005, where she served as Directory-Secretary, as well as serving 6 summers as Temporary office Manager and two terms as Crafts administrator at Avion Palms Homeowner’s Association. Florence was a Former Member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church Wauchula, Hardee Co, Florida The Council of Catholic Women and served 2 years as a volunteer administrator of St Michael’s Catholic Church Food Pantry. Florence was a current member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Avon park, Highlands County, Florida. Services will be held in Johnstown, New York with Burial taking place at Ephratah Cemetery, New York beside her husband & son. Special thanks to the Vitas Hospice Comfort Care Team and to Mary Smith, her Vitas Healthcare aid for the past two years.
