Joseph John Ossman, Jr., 53, of Sebring, died on Sunday, September 10, 2017 in Hardee County. He was born in Maryland on July 13, 1964 and became a Hardee/Highlands County resident in 1994. Sergeant Ossman was employed at Hardee Correctional Institution for 21 years as a corrections officer. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was Catholic by faith. Survivors include his companion, Sandra Harvey of Sebring; son, Joseph Ossman of Tacoma, Washington; step-son, Dominic Rio of Olalla, Washington; brother, Ronnie Ossman; sisters, Joanna Ossman and Theresa Lewis, both of Hagerstown, Maryland. Visitation is Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Robarts Garden Chapel. Funeral service with Honors will be held at 10 AM Friday, September 22, 2017 at St. Michael Catholic Church. Interment is at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida at 1:30 PM.
