December 30, 1959 - September 24, 2021
Kathleen Dwyer Roehm, 61, wife of Ryan Roehm passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021, in Wauchula, FL. Kathleen was born in Boston, MA on December 30, 1959, the daughter of Peter and Ellen (Millett) Dwyer. Kathleen spent most of her childhood in Belmont, MA. Her family moved to Haines City, FL in 1974. Kathleen graduated from Haines City High School in 1978, after living in Polk and Hillsborough County, moved to Wauchula with her husband in 1987. She was an active member of Peace Valley Lutheran Church in Wauchula, FL. She was a full-time mom for many years and later obtained a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Business Administration from Warner College. Kathleen would work many jobs throughout the years, but her greatest priority was a flexible job that would allow her to put her family first. Her last position was a grant writer at Peace River Center. Kathleen dedicated her life to serving others. She was often mistaken for a teacher because she was always volunteering in the schools of Hardee County. Kathleen served on many boards and was always involved in fundraising or community service projects, some of them include – a mentor for Take Stock in Children, Early Learning Coalition, RCMA, Habitat for Humanity, Lions Clubs of Wauchula, Hardee Swim, and every volunteer or fundraising event she could for her children at their schools. She was passionate about education – from early childhood education to upper-level education. Kathleen often advised people, “It was never too late to follow your dreams.” When Kathleen wasn’t volunteering, she enjoyed reading, sewing, walking, traveling, camping, and canoeing. Although she didn’t want to be asked what was for dinner, she was an amazing cook. Kathleen was a loving, devoted wife for 34 years to Ryan and the incredible mother to Jodi Oakes, Ryan (Stephanie) Roehm, Kirsti Roehm, and Korin Roehm. She was a grandmother, known as “Bella,” to Colen, Carter, Justin, Carlie, and Ryan III. She was a sister to Kevin, Ken, Peter, Charles, and Elizabeth. She was a sister-in-law, aunt, and friend to many. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Ellen Dwyer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be given to Peace River Center, or to donate to a school or teacher that you love. But more than anything, Kathleen would want everyone to volunteer their time to a meaningful cause. Visitation will be at Robarts Funeral Home, Friday, October 1 from 6-8 pm. A private funeral will follow.
