Benita Valdez, 82, of Arcadia, passed away at Tidewell Hospice in Arcadia on Sunday, November 25, 2018. She was born in Texas on March 21, 1936, and ha been a resident of Hardee and DeSoto Counties most of her life. She was a homemaker and was a Catholic.

Benita was preceded in death by a brother Narcisco Soliz and a sister, Ava Alvarado. Survivors include five sons, Santu Valdez, Jr. of Wauchula, Joe Valdez of Arcadia, Carlos Valdez of Immokalee, Ricardo Valdez of Zolfo Springs, and Jessie Valdez of Bartow; six daughters, Carmen Valdez, Ernestine Obregon, Maria Valdez-Guerrero, and Anita Valdez, all of Wauchula, Angelita Valdez of Winter Haven, and Stella Valdez of Arcadia; one brother, Jose Soliz, Jr. of Texas; four sisters, Dorothy Juarez, Margaret Martinez, Ramona Aguilar, and Simona Jacquez, all of Texas; 43 grandchildren, 79 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 29th from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Robarts Garden Chapel. Funeral Services are at 12:00 PM (Noon). Mauro Linarez will officiate.
