Obituary

Benjamin 'Ben' Dunlap, 84, a lifelong resident of Hardee County departed his
worn-out earthly vessel to be present with the Lord on June 23 at his home in Lily,
FL. Ben was born in Wauchula on July 25, 1937 to Alphonso and Gusta Belle (Mathis)
Dunlap of Ona. Alphonso died when he was young and Gusta remarried Redge

unable to graduate. During his senior year, Redge was badly burned in a farm
accident so Ben went to work to help support the family. Ben married Glenda
Posey, formerly of Cullman, AL, and the two settled in Lily, FL. Over the years, Ben
did many jobs including working for the road prison in Arcadia as a foreman, was
a semi-owner/operator, a vegetable farmer, and a cattle rancher. Ben enjoyed
fishing, air boating, going to the casino, and spending time with family and friends.
On February 11, 2018, Ben accepted the Lord as his savior. He is survived by Glenda (Posey), his wife of 62 years; five children: Pam (Dunlap)
