Betty Jean Johnston, 70, of Zolfo Springs, passed away on August 19, 2012 at Shands at UF in Gainesville. Betty was born in Arcadia on April 15, 1942, and had been a lifelong resident of Desoto and Hardee Counties. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Johnston of Zolfo Springs; two daughters and sons-in-law, Penny and Kelly Little of Lakeland, and Robin Woods and Pat Royce of Zolfo Springs; one step-daughter, Nicole Johnston of Zolfo Springs; three sisters, Evelyn Vaughn of Fort Meade, Donnie Sutherland of Tennessee, and Debbie Mitchell of Sebring; five grandchildren, Kevin and Michael Wingate of Lakeland, Daffney Smith of Zolfo Springs, Justin Woods of Sebring, and Cody Little of Arcadia; and eight grandchildren, Kaylee, Caleb, Devin, Khloe, Landon, Brody, Dustin, and Dawson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 24, 2012 at Robarts Garden Chapel from 10-11 a.m. Funeral Services are at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ken Lambert of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Sebring officiating. Burial is in Friendship Cemetery.
