Obituary for Billy Mack Read

Billy Mack Read, 87, a resident of Miami, Florida for 48 years and living in Wauchula, Fl., passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019, in Miami, Florida. He was born in Lufkin, Texas on September 7, 1931. Bill was a lifelong member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and was a member of Miami Temple SDA Church from the time he moved to Miami. Bill graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Southern Missionary College and a master's degree in Education from the University of Maryland. He began working as a professional artist after teaching for 19 years in Christian Education.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Delbert Read and Ella McCoy Read, brothers Delbert "Sleepy" Read and Wallace Read, and sister Clarice Read.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Patti Timmerman Read, son Devin Read (Tiffany) of Statesville, NC. and daughter Denise Read Anderson (Wayne) of Miami, Fl., brother John Read of Keene, Tx., and sister Betty Ann Price also of Keene, Tx., grandchildren Alexis Elliott and Kelton Elliott of Statesville, NC.

Graveside services will be held at Bowling Green City Cemetery on Thursday, April 25, 2019, at 2:00 pm

A Celebration of life will be held at Miami Temple SDA Church in Miami on Saturday, April 27, at 4:00 pm

Flowers are welcomed and should be sent to Robarts Funeral Home in Wauchula for the Graveside Service and to Miami Temple Church for the Celebration of Life service on Saturday in Miami. In lieu of flowers, the family also welcomes contributions to the Bill Read Fine Arts Memorial Fund located in the Adventist Giving Site for Miami Temple SDA Church at the link below.
