Brenda L. Derr, 63, of Sarasota, entered into rest after struggling with cancer over a period of nine years, at her home on Dec. 6, 2010. Born in York, PA on Jan. 28, 1947, Brenda was the daughter of the late Aaron Hershey Harbold and the late Alma Graybill Harbold. She was the wife of Clark E. Derr since July 24, 1993. A 1965 graduate of Lancaster Mennonite School, Lancaster, PA, Brenda lived in Lancaster County, PA for nearly 50 years. She treasured family and friends, was employed in numerous offices and was a homemaker and member of Simmontown Mennonite Church in Gap, PA. Surviving are husband Clark E. Derr; sister, Cheryl, wife of B. Earl Eshbach of Harrisonburg, VA; 6 nieces and nephews; 12 great-nieces and great-nephews, 3 step-children; 6 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren. A memorial service and vewing was held at Peace River Mennonite Church, Arcadia at 2:00 p.m. Dec. 8th. A final viewing is planned at the Simmontown Mennonite Church, Gap, PA on Sunday, Dec. 12th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., with funeral services on Monday, Dec. 13th at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
