Byron Edwin Gainous, 84 of Wauchula, Florida passed away in Sebring, Florida on Friday, February 17, 2023. He was born in Edison, Georgia on December 12, 1938, to Byron Marion and Edna Gainous. He was Baptist by faith. Byron is preceded in death by his parents, two half-siblings Johnny and Faye Cordova, his wife Sandra Lee Gainous, and a son Byron Gainous. He is survived by sons, Marty (Kathy) Gainous, Richard Gainous, Steven Gainous and a daughter, Karen (Danny) Timmons, a brother Tommy (Joan) Gainous, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Gainous proudly served his country in the United States Navy. In the Navy, he trained as an Aviation Metalsmith, and an Airman Seaman E3. This skill lead him to a career in body restoration at Hardee Motor Company which later became Alan Jay Chevrolet. He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family and beloved dogs, Buddy and Sandy. There will be no local service. A private family gathering is being planned for a later date.
