Catherine (Cathy) J. Drake of Zolfo Springs, Florida passed peacefully on October 3rd, 2022, at
the age of 70.
Cathy is survived by her children Kevin McKee, Corey Creager (Avey), Tyler Creager (Heather);
her siblings Connie Giggi (Jim), Jim Drake (Donna), and Lynn Smolen (Ed); her six

grandchildren Michael, Cameron, Connor, Cavan, Kyden, and Kenzie; her two great-
granddaughters Adilyn and Lilah; as well as several nieces and nephews, other families

members, and close friends. Cathy is proceeded in death by her parents Edgar and Barbara
Drake.
Cathy was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 16, 1952. She grew up in Ohio and worked at Ohio
State University until retiring at the age of 55. In 2012, Cathy moved to Florida with her long-term partner where she spent the rest of her years enjoying the sunshine and traveling back
and forth to visit family and friends. She was greatly adventurous and enjoyed hiking, fishing,
and camping. She loved tending her garden and sharing her knowledge about plants and
wildlife with others. She would take clippings of flowers and make beautiful cards to share with
family and friends. Jazzercise was one of her greatest passions and she would exercise and
teach multiple times a day. Cathy was a loving and caring woman who would always greet
family and friends with a beautiful smile and a warm embrace. She was devoted to her family
and loved them all very much. She was known for putting the needs of others far above her
own and she left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Cathy will be missed greatly, but she
will always be remembered and never forgotten.
A remembrance for Cathy will be held on October 24th, 2022 at the Jazzercise studio, Town
Center Plaza, on Highway 17 North, Wauchula, Florida.
Friends and family may join a Celebration of Life for Cathy that will take place on November
5th, 2022 at 1 pm at 8088 McKitrick Rd, Plain City, Ohio.
