Catherine "Cathy" Porterfield, 64, of Wauchula, Florida, passed away on July 23, 2026.

Cathy was born on June 13, 1962, in Bartow, Florida, to Johnnie "Rusty" Mooneyham and Ruby Mooneyham Adkins.

She had a lifelong love of animals and especially enjoyed spoiling her little Chihuahua, Honey. Creative by nature, Cathy enjoyed arts and crafts and often brought her own artistic touch to her work. She could frequently be found listening to a good Aerosmith album, shopping for things she probably did not need—as many of us do—or enjoying the peace and quiet of the country.

Some of her happiest moments were spent talking about her daughter and reliving funny memories of her grandchildren when they were small.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie "Rusty" Mooneyham and Ruby Mooneyham Adkins; her sister, Barbara Burton; and her brother, Philip Mooneyham.

She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Magnuson, and her grandchildren, Kennedy Magnuson and Liam Magnuson.
