Clarence Wendell Cole, 87, of Wauchula, Florida, passed away on May 6, 2024. He was born in Chokoloskee Island, Florida on December 21, 1936, to Clarence and Annie (Watson) Cole. Wendell was a dedicated Citrus Farmer and found joy in hunting, fishing, boating, snow skiing, lobstering, and traveling. He served as a Deacon at Oak Grove Baptist for over 40 years and was known for his hard work, loyalty, and sense of humor. Wendell is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 62 years Elizabeth A. Cole, son Butch Cole, brothers Chuck Cole, Gene Cole, and Dwight Cole, and sister Gerri Miller. He is survived by his son Roby Cole of Wauchula, FL, daughter Deborah Tucker of Wauchula, Florida, 2 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at Oak Grove Baptist Church from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the funeral service starting at 4:00 p.m. Brother Jim Davis will be officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Oak Grove Baptist Church in his honor. Wendell will be remembered for his love for his family, his church, and his ability to bring smiles to those around him.
