David Edward Jernigan, 68, passed away on October 3, 2026 in Wauchula, Florida. He was born on January 5, 1958 to Edward Jernigan and Mildred Williams Jernigan. A lifelong resident of the Hardee County area where he made his living as a railroad worker for the phosphate mines.

He is preceded in death by both parents. He is survived by his companion Jenny Dickey Jernigan ; his daughters Lydia Jernigan(William Moore) of Lake Wales, Florida, Daffney Jernigan of Indiana, Bethany Barnett (Dustin Mosser) of Sebring, Florida, Cassidy Abbott (William) of Sebring, Florida, Cameron Caudill(Kaley) of Winter Haven, Florida, Haylee Gigilotti(Jordan) of Myakka City, Florida, and Shelby Albritton of Wauchula, Florida; and his stepson Colton Albritton of North Port, Florida. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren.
