David Allen Smith Sr. 70, of Avon Park, Florida went to sleep in death on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. David was born on August 31, 1951, in Fort Myers, Florida to Lawrence and Helen Smith. He has been a resident of Highlands County for the past 25 years after moving from Hardee County. David is preceded in death by both of his parents, daughter Lori Smith, brother Larry Smith, sisters Wanda Rogers, Betty Ward, Shirley Tillman, and Sandra Smith. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Susan Smith, sons David Smith Jr. of Avon Park, Fl., Joshua Smith of Avon Park, Fl., Ronald Smith of Trenton, Fl., grandchildren Holly Redding (James), Caitlyn Smith, Shelby Reese, and Lizabeth Smith all of Avon Park, Fl., great-grandchildren Alana & Jaxson Redding, Avery & Everett Price, Sylus Conley, siblings Patty Smith, Philip Smith, Ernie Bryant (Denise), Lorine Roman (Gary), Lisa Prestridge (J.R.), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Memorial Service will take place at a later date.
