Doris M. Winne, 84, of Wauchula, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Hardee Manor. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa on August 1, 1927, and came to Wauchula from Hadley, Michigan in 1995.
Mrs. Winne was a homemaker, real estate agent, and part-time school teacher. She traveled the world estensively singing gospel music, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wauchula.
Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Robert D. Winne of Wauchula; son, James R. Hodges of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; daughter, Susan Glynn (Christopher) of Hamilton, Ohio; brother, Harold White of Minneapolis, Minnesota; sisters, Margaret Barron (Jack) of Rentz, Georgia and Barbara Malvich (Lloyd) of Pontiac, Michigan; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 24th at the First Baptist Church of Wauchula from 9:30-10:30 a.m. with funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Marcus Shackelford will officiate. Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Michigan.
