Erma Rae Thompson, 84, passed away on October 4, 2026 in Sebring, Florida. She was born on July 22, 1942 to John Earlenbaugh and Erma Gee Earlenbaugh in Akron, Ohio. After moving to Hardee County in 1992 from Indianapolis where she made a living as a typist for the Lawyers Title Insurance Company and was Christian by faith of the Light and Life Free Methodist Church. She also worked at the Heartland Christian School in Sebring where she had a hand in many of the schools' operations before retiring in 2012.

She is preceded in death by both parents, her husband Donovan E Thompson, as well as her sister Donna Chaumont. Erma is survived by her son John G Dobbins of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; her daughters Pamela Cornelius of Wauchula, Florida, Donna Thomas-McNeely of Murietta, California, Lynda Thompson Resnick(Seth) of West Palm Beach, Florida; her brothers Donald Earlenbaugh of Ashland, Ohio and Dennis Earlenbaugh of Akron, Ohio, and brother in law Jack Chaumont of Seville, Ohio; Erma's grandchildren Michael Cornelius, Michael Gregory Harker, William Brenton Harker, Emily Schroeder, and Spencer McNeely. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
