Floyd F. Fields, 91, of Wauchula, passed away at Florida Hospital in Sebring on Wednesday, February 8, 2012. Mr. Fields was born in Nobles County, Minnesota on August 24, 1920; he moved to Hardee County in 1952. He was a member of the Peace Valley Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post #2. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a skilled message clerk and was self-employed as a carpenter.
His daughter, Barbara Jean Fields, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Iris E. Fields of Wauchula; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Elizabeth Fields of Jacksonville, Philip W. and Norma Fields of Atlanta, Georgia, Dennis F. Fields of Wauchula, and Mark S. and Cindy Fields of Wauchula; 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2012 at Peace Valley Lutheran Church with Rev. Bruce Sommerfield officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30-2:00 p.m. Burial is in Wauchula Cemetery.
