Gayle was born on January 18, 1947 in Wauchula, Fl. She passed away peacefully at her home in Avon Park, Florida on October 16, 2020 with her family at her side.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Story Arnold (Lonnie); her son, Donald McCoy "Mack" Story (David Kalina); her granddaughters, Patti Gause and Cheyenne Mills Sphaler (Justin); her two great-grandchildren, Westen and Remi Gause; her sisters, Pat Marsh and Lillian Hughes; her brother, Terry Keene; and her long-time best friend, Pat McAllister.
She was preceded by her husband, Jerald Story; her daughter, Shannon Story Gause; her parents, Harley McCoy and Inez Barwick Keene; and her brothers, Kenneth and Tom Keene.

There will be a graveside service at 4:00 pm on Monday, October 19, 2020 at Paynes Creek Cemetery in Bowling Green, Florida. Mr. Kevin Marsh will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
