Gene Dale Kuyrkendall, 71, of Bowling Green, passed away in Sarasota on Nov. 6, 2011. Gene was born in St. Louis, Missouri on Dec. 21, 1939 and came to Hardee County from Indiana 64 years ago. He was of the Baptist and Nazarene faiths, served in the U.S. Air Force and was a self-employed truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia "Pat" Kuyrkendall of Bowling Green; one son, Gene Kuyrkendall, Jr. (Nesbitt) of Palm City; four daughters, Angela Stewart (Tommy Joe) of Wauchula, Sheila Kuyrkendall of Ft. Meade, Rose Abbott of Wauchula, and Jodie Estes (Alfred) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; one sister, Phyllis Siegrist (Bob) of Indiana; nine grandchildren, Kelly Purser (Michael), James Chancey (Savanna), Kylen Chancey, Lance Richardson, William Stephens, Austin Kuyrkendall, Grace Kuyrkendall, Melissa Galarza, and Mary Estes; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, Nov. 11th at Robarts Garden Chapel with Rev. Mitch Landress officiating.
