Irene M. Moody, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away on March 28, 2025. She was a cherished resident of Bowling Green, Florida, since 1955, having moved from her birthplace in Pisgah Forest, North Carolina, where she was born on January 7, 1942.

Irene was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Bowling Green, where she found community and strength in her faith. She spent her days working as a housekeeper, proudly running her own business and providing for her family. Irene was known for her generous spirit; she always went out of her way to help others, even when she had very little herself. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and participating in church activities.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents, Austin McCall and Bernice McCall, her beloved husband Ray, who she was married to for 47 years until his passing in February 2005, and her daughter Rebecca Louise Moody. She is also preceded in death by her brother Pomo McCall and sisters Vicky Keaton, Yvonne Selph, and Valerie Green.

She is survived by her loving family, including her daughters Peggy Petty of Bowling Green, Diane Altieri and her husband Christopher of Winter Haven, and Donna Burns and her husband Ken of Bowling Green. She is also survived by her brother Jethro McCall of Bowling Green, sister Vera Tapley, 5 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held in Roberts Garden Chapel on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM, followed by funeral services at 11:00. Pastor Scott Tharp will be officiating services. Interment will take place at Bowling Green Cemetery.

Irene will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering faith, and her deep love for her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
