James A. "Jimmy" Boyette passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Advent Health in Sebring. He was born on September 22, 1950, in the Fort Myers area to the late Truman and Dorothy Boyette. He was a member of Fort Green Baptist Church.
During Jimmy's teenage years, his family moved to Wauchula. He quickly fell in love with Hardee County and participated in rodeo and various sports with his many friends. After graduating high school, Jimmy served in the military and, after his discharge, began his lifelong career in the citrus industry. This fostered his love for people, his ability to never meet a stranger, and his well-known "gift of gab".
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Truman and Dorothy Boyette, and his brother, Jeff.
He is survived by two sisters, Cynthia Boyette of Avon Park and Carol (Johnny) Polk of Sebring; his son, Caleb Boyette of Zolfo Springs; daughter Katie (Greg) Moye of Wauchula; and the stars of his world, his two beautiful granddaughters that he adored, Ella and Gentry, who lovingly referred to him as Paw Paw.
Jimmy will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. A visitation will be held at First Christian Church on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. followed by funeral services at 11:00. Brother Kenny Sanders will be officiating. The interment will take place at Friendship Cemetery in Zolfo Springs, Florida.
