James Jennings, 84, a resident of Zolfo Springs, since 2011, coming from Anna Maria Island, Florida. passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022, in Wauchula, Florida. He was born to Dr. Earnest Jennings, DDS, and Jane Jennings on December 10, 1937, in Hartford, Connecticut. He proudly served our Country in the United States Army as a paratrooper for the 101st First Air Born division. James was a Baptist by faith and a member of First Baptist Church of Zolfo Springs, Florida. James earned his bachelor's degree in Theology, by attending the Zion Bible institute as well as Berkshire Christian Seminary College. He worked while going to school to support his family. He spent a year in England at Tyndall Hall, He went on to be a pastor, a faithful and wonderful servant of Jesus Christ.
"Trading in his sandals for boots," as he always used to say.
He served his community through a law enforcement career in Lee County, Florida and served as a bailiff, and a probation officer among other things. He was very artistic using his abilities to sketch suspects and was also a handwriting analyzer throughout his law enforcement career.


He is preceded in death by both his parents and his high school sweetheart and first wife Suzanne Hastings 1958-2011.

James Is survived by his loving wife Beverly Cassel, son Jay Jennings (Rondi) of Marathon, Florida, daughter Terri Jennings of Anchorage, Alaska, brother Earnest Jennings (Jean) of Fort Myers, Florida, along with 5 grandchildren Billy Douglas, Travis Douglas, Andrea Jennings, Jack Jennings, and Sam Jennings. As well as 3 great-
grandchildren. Military Honors and Interment will take place at Sarasota National Cemetery on Friday, October 7, 2022, at 2:00 P.M.
