Janet M. Lewis of Zolfo Springs, passed away at her home on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the age of 67. She was born in Hardee County on May 13, 1947 and had been a lifelong resident. Janet was a member of Lake Dale Baptist Church and had been employed by Hardee County as a maintenance worker.

She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas J. "Rooster" Lewis in January 2015. Survivors include one son, Carl Lewis and wife Robin of Sebring; two daughters, Cathy Jean "Sissy" Giles of South Carolina, and Joyce Ellis of Lake Placid; four brothers, Baxter, Johnny, Henry, and Ricky Melendy; four sisters, Marsha Brown, Donnie, Annie, and Carol Melendy; seven grandchildren, including Ashley, Samantha, and Thomas Morris; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Robarts Garden Chapel with Rev. Albert Blum officiating. Interment will be in Lake Dale Cemetery.
