Jimmie Smith, 89, of Wauchula, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024. Born in Dothan, Alabama, on December 28, 1934, to Damon Smith and Alma Roland Smith, Jimmie moved to Wauchula in 1947, where he spent the remainder of his life. A devoted member of the Southside Baptist Church, Jimmie lived his faith daily and was known for his kindness and generosity. He proudly served in the Army, demonstrating his commitment to his country. Jimmie worked for Grimsley Oil and at Alan Jay Dealership, where he was respected and admired by his colleagues. Jimmie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lucky Smith; his daughter, Donna Sue Robertson; his brothers, Billy, Harry, Frank, and Paul Smith; and his sisters, Kate Baxley and Betty Quinn. He leaves behind a loving family, including his son, James Smith, and wife Susie of Wauchula, Florida; daughters Brenda Brown of Register, Georgia, and Liz Mitchell Smith of Wauchula, Florida; as well as many cherished grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service to honor Jimmie's life will be announced at a later date. The family appreciates the love and support from the community during this difficult time. Jimmie will be remembered for his unwavering faith, loving spirit, and the joy he brought to those around him.
