Joan D. Thomas, 76, of Bowling Green, passed away at her home on June 5, 2010. She was born in Hoagtown, Alabama on Sept. 13, 1933 and came to Hardee County 30 years ago. She attended the Church of Christ and was a homemaker. Her sister, Joyce Turner, preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, Ronald Thomas of Bowling Green; son, Timothy Cowart (Sylina) of Wauchula; daughter, Deborah Ljung (Anders) of Lake Placid; step-son, Ronald Thomas, Jr. (Beth) of Venice; step-daughter, Pam Lewis (Wayne) of Avon Park; brother, Donald Quinn of Denver, Colorado; 6 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 7th at Robarts Garden Chapel. Funeral services are at Robarts at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Steve McGaughey officiating. Burial is in Ft. Green Methodist Cemetery.
