Joann Spires, 77, of Hardee County, died April 19, 2011 in Lakeland. She was born on May 11, 1933 in Haleyville, Alabama and had lived here since 1956, coming from Georgia. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She loved cooking and fishing, and crafted beautiful embroidery work.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Caudle of Illinois; 5 sisters, Velma Gaffga of Arkansas, Ivory Martin of Avon Park, Delilia Noblett of Bowling Green, Caroline Gann of Arkansas, and Rita Anderson of Michigan; 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Visitation and services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 23rd at Robarts Garden Chapel. Burial will follow in Bowling Green Cemetery.
