Joanne Long, 57, of Hardee County, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on December 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 29, 1967, in Hartford, Michigan, Joanne dedicated her life to caring for others, working as a caretaker in the Health Care industry. Her compassion and nurturing spirit touched the lives of many, reflecting her deep commitment to the well-being of those around her. Joanne moved to Hardee County 40 years ago, where she embraced the beauty of the outdoors, particularly enjoying fishing and spending time with her beloved animals. Above all, she cherished her family, serving as the glue that held them together. Her love for her grandbabies was boundless, and she took immense joy in being a part of their lives. Joanne is survived by her partner of 18 years, Glenn Kirk; her children William Pruett and wife Stephanie of Zolfo Springs, Sharon Jansen, and husband Richard of Wauchula, Florida, Penny Bass and husband JR of Wauchula, Florida, Glenn Kirk of Ona, Florida, Richard Kirk of Ona, Florida, Emily Kirk of Sebring, Florida, and Kaylie Chason and husband Michael of Fort Myers, Florida. She also leaves behind her brother, Joseph "Donnie" Long and wife Ruth of Wauchula, Florida, Curtis Kirk and wife Brenda of Lake Wales, Florida, sisters Jane Long of Lake Placid, Florida, and Kim Kirk of Defuniak Springs, Florida, along with many other cherished siblings, relatives, and friends. Joanne was a proud grandmother to 12 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to one great-grandchild, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts. Joanne Long will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Family has requested that no flowers be sent donations can be made to a charity of your choice in her honor.
