John White, 83, a lifelong resident of Wauchula, FL, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2019, in Polk County, Florida. He was born in Wauchula, FL on August 15, 1935. John was a member and past deacon of New Hope Baptist Church. He worked as the manager at Buford Long Massey Ferguson in Wauchula and later at Fields Equipment John Deere in Zolfo Springs. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley White and Jewel Durrance White, and his loving wife Mildred White whom he married in 1958. They shared 60+ years together until her passing earlier this year.

He is survived by his children Mark (Sherry) White, Robert (Mary Jane) White and Cheryl Staton, twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.


A Visitation will be held Saturday May 4th at 2:00 p.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church. Funeral services with follow starting at 3:00 p.m.

Interment will be at Hart Cemetery after the service.
