Juan Martinez, 67, of Bowling Green, passed away on March 17, 2013 at Florida Hospital in Wauchula. Mr. Martinez was born in Edcouch, Texas on July 21, 1945. He came to Hardee County from Texas in 1963. He was the pastor of the Church of the Living God The Good Shepherd in Zolfo Springs and was also a maintenance worker at Wal-Mart.
Survivors include his wife, Amparo Martinez of Bowling Green; two sons, Timothy Martinez and wife Elizabeth of Michigan, and John Philip Martinez and wife Veronica of Bowling Green; two daughters, Deborah Castillo and husband Saul of Bowling Green, and Carmelita Valerio and husband Hector of Zolfo Springs; five brothers, Santana Martinez of Bowling Green, Pedro Martinez and Estaban Martinez of Mexico, Jacinto Martinez and Reuben Martinez of Wauchula; three sisters, Herlinda Olvera of Wauchula, Juanita Martinez and Emma Martinez of Mexico; and eleven grandchildren.
Visitation and Funeral services will be held at the Church of the Living God in Bowling Green. Visitation is Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral is Friday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Antonio Montalvo officiating. Interment is in Wauchula Cemetery.
