Juan Rivera Jr., 73, was born on November 25, 1950, in Haskell County, Texas, to Juan Sr. and Theodora (Andaverde) Rivera. He passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024, in Avon Park, Florida, surrounded by his loving family. Juan lived most of his life in McAllen, Texas, and was a devout Catholic who had a passion for listening to music, working on carpentry, and soldering. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Norma Rivera, sons Johnny Rivera and Joseph Rivera, daughter Jennifer Lee Mendez, brothers Raul Rivera and George Rivera, and sister Ofelia Rivera Hernandez. He is survived by his brothers Roberto Rivera (Gilda), Alfonso Rivera (Maria), Martin Rivera (Flor), Francisco Rivera (Angelina), Paulino Rivera (Terry), Reynaldo Rivera (Glenda), sisters Maria Elena Escobedo (Jose), and Carmen Rivera. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Yesenia Rivera, son-in-law Ricardo Mendez, and his two grandchildren Emilia and Abbigail Mendez. A visitation will be held at Robarts Garden Chapel on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 10:00 am, followed by funeral services at 11:00 am. Father Juan Lorenzo will be officiating, Interment will take place at Bowling Green Cemetery. Juan will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
