Larry Criswell, 58, of Wauchula, died November 14, 2009 at his home. Larry was born on September 12, 1951 in Ozark, Alabama and came to Hardee County 40 years ago. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and was a laborer in the citrus industry. He was preceded in death by his father, Arvle W. Criswell and a sister, Vera Jane Pugh. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Criswell of Wauchula; mother, Cassie Ree Criswell of Ft. Meade; 1 son, Larry Joe Criswell of Bristol, Fla.; 2 daughters, Marie Pilkington of Bowling Green, and Karen Pilkintgon (Shellar) of Zolfo Springs; 2 brothers, Raymond Criswell (Martha) of Ft. Meade, and Danny Criswell of Daytona Beach; 6 sisters, Pat Cook (Charles) of Wauchula, Marsie Smith of Ariton, Ala., Reba Bryant (Tatchie) of Lakeland, Lynn Sconyers (Jack) of Bowling Green, Essie Hall (J.D.) of Bartow, and Dessie Combs (Vince) of Ft. Meade; 7 grandchildren, Nathan, Amber, Michael, Scottie, Krista and Jessie Pilkington, and Eli Fowler; 4 step-grandchildren, Ryan Walker, Josh, Jesse and Sonya Fowler. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009 at Robarts Garden Chapel from 6-7 p.m. with funeral services at 7 p.m. Duck Smith will officiate.
