Lelton Ray Staton, a lifelong resident of Hardee County, Florida, passed away on November 22, 2023, in Sebring, Florida. He was born on January 5, 1947, in Wauchula, Florida, to Troy Staton and Pearl Flowers Staton. Lelton was the proud owner of Staton Harvesting and was a respected member of the community. He was a Baptist by Faith and cherished his family and friends.
Lelton was preceded in death by his parents, Troy Staton and Pearl Flowers Staton, his sons Ricky Staton and James Staton, his brother James "Junior" Staton, and his sister Sally Harrell. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Lucille Staton, his son Steve Staton (Rachel), and his daughter Wendy Welch (Jerry). Lelton is also survived by his brothers Bill Staton, Rex Staton, and Doyle Staton (Teresa), and his sister Margaret Johnson (Gene). He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren McKenzie Staton, Sarah Welch, Lyndsey Welch, Jason Staton, Dakota Richards, and Miranda Albritton as well as his great-grandchildren Cillene Barlow and Camryn Schmucker.
A celebration of Lelton's life will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 5-7 pm at the family home located at 450 Boyd Cowart Rd, Wauchula, Florida 33873. Family and friends are invited to attend and share their memories of Lelton.
Lelton Ray Staton will be remembered for his hard work, dedication to his family, and his strong faith. He will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
