Leonard Perry Taylor, Jr., 88, of Wauchula, passed away at his home on Friday afternoon, August 1, 2014. He was born in Lakeland, Florida on February 28, 1926 and had been a resident of Hardee County since 1936. He attended the First United Methodist Church of Wauchula and had been employed as a rancher and merchant. Mr. Taylor graduated from Georgia Military College in 1942 and served in the Army Air Force from 1944-1946.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Perry and Verna Ratliff Taylor, and a daughter, Donna Adelaide Taylor Fairchild. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Joanne Carlton Taylor of Wauchula; daughter, Catharine T. Woods and husband Prentis of Wauchula; three grandchildren, Amanda Nicole Waddle and husband Brian, Clay D. Hartzog, Jr. and wife Kim, and Leonard L. Hartzog; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Wauchula Cemetery with Rev. Danielle Upton officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #2.
