Marie Helen Schwartz, age 76, of Zolfo Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025, in Sebring, Florida. Born on August 12, 1948, in Butler, New Jersey, she was the beloved daughter of the late Reginald G. Gormley, Sr. and Helen Longnecker Reed, and step-father Burney A. Reed.

Marie dedicated her life to education, serving as a paraprofessional teacher with the Hardee County School System until her retirement. Her passion for teaching and nurturing young minds left a lasting impact on her students and the community.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Henry Schwartz. Marie is survived by her two cherished sons, Edward James Schwartz and his wife Ann Stewart Schwartz of Zolfo Springs, FL, and Allen Dixon of Zolfo Springs, FL. She was a proud grandmother to Camille Helena Schwartz, who brought her immense joy.

Marie is also survived by her siblings, Patricia (Howard) Andress of Palmetto, FL, Diane (Ralph) Powell of Palmetto, FL, and Daniel (Karen) Gormley of Sarasota, FL. She was preceded in death by her siblings Marlene Burton, Reginald Gormley, Jr., and Charles A. Gormley.

A service to honor Marie's life will be held at Braden River Cemetery in Bradenton, Florida on Friday, May 30, 2025 @ 10:00 A.M. where she will be laid to rest.

Marie will be remembered for her kindness, dedication to education, and the love she shared with her family and friends. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.
