Martha Allen Albritton, 98, longtime resident of Jacksonville, passed away February 5, 2013. She was born in Meridian, Mississippi, daughter of Frank and Sallie (Lott) Allen.
Martha attended John Gorrie Middle School and graduated from the Westminster School for Girls in Atlanta, formerly, Atlanta's North Avenue Presbyterian School (NAPS). She married Robert Hyman Albritton in 1935 and they lived in south Florida for a short time before settling in Jacksonville. A member of Southside Baptist Church, she was very active as a Sunday School teacher, chairman of the decorating committee and other women's groups in the church. Martha was a long-standing member of the Jacksonville Garden Club.
Surviving are numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, February 10th at Bowling Green Cemetery with Rev. Kenny Slay of the First Baptist Church of Fort Meade officiating.
