Mary Smith Mitchell 71 of Hardee County passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021 at her home. She had been a resident of Hardee County for the past 40 years coming from Burnet, Texas. Mary was active and very passionate about 4-H and the Florida Frontiersmen dedicating her life to our youth and Florida History. She was preceded in death by both of her parents Clyde and Maxine Smith and the love of her life S.C. "Mitch" Mitchell. Mary is survived by her son Travis "TJ" Mitchell (Megan) of Avery, TX; daughter Tia Mitchell of Polk County Florida; brothers Jim Smith of Burnet, TX. And Michael Smith (Laura) of Galveston, TX.; sisters Margaret Carnline and Johnie Shafer; grandchildren Micah Wilson of Colorado, Miranda and Jason Wilson of Minnesota, Abigail and Cooper Rye Mitchell of Avery, TX.; and many nephews and nieces.
