Merle "Red" Henderson, 73, lifelong resident of Wauchula, passed away on January 28, 2013 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring. Red was born in Wauchula on September 13, 1939. He served in the U. S. Army, and was co-owner of Henderson Tire.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Myrtle Henderson, and brothers, Rev. Albert Bergens, James T. Bergens, and Phillip J. Henderson.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Henderson of Wauchula; one son, Scott Henderson of Lutz; one daughter, Dena Henderson of North Port; one sister, Louise Baucom of Wauchula; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, February 1st at Robarts Garden Chapel. Graveside services and interment will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wauchula Cemetery.
