Michael John Sleeper, 26, of Wauchula, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2011 at Tampa General Hospital. He was born on March 12, 1985 in Brooksville, Fla. and came to Hardee County in 1987.
Michael was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and taught 7th grade math at Hardee Jr. High. He was a dedicated teacher, an avid photographer, enjoyed fishing, and playing racquetball with friends.
Michael is survived by his parents, David and Jan Sleeper of Wauchula; maternal grandmother, Helen Moen of Brooksville; paternal grandmother, Muriel Kegan of New Smyrna Beach; brother and sister-in-law, David and Kelly Sleeper and nephews, Oliver and Jude, of Newberry; numerous uncles and aunts, Donnie, Eddie, and Jon Moen, Lisa Messina, Donna Furnish, Sandy Marton, and Nancy Cox; and many cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 6th from 6-8 p.m. at Robarts Garden Chapel. Funeral services are at 4:00 p.m. Friday at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Fack officating. Interment is in Gainesville, Fla.
