Monteen "Ethel" Crews Jenkins, 90, of Arcadia, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2011 at Hardee Manor Healthcare under the care of Hope Hospice.
Ethel was born on January 21, 1921 in Pine Level, and had been a resident of DeSoto County since birth. She was preceded in death by her parents, several husbands, daughter, son-in-law, and a great-grandson.
Ethel worked at the canning plant, and also owned and operated her own business for many years. She loved working with her fruits and veggies. She also loved animals, especially her cats.
She is survived by her children, Pansey Piechocki of Faith, Texas, Edwin Pent (Rebecca)of Arcadia, Ann Billings (Cotton) of Moore Haven, and Ola Norman (Floyd) of Arcadia; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; two step-sons, two step-daughters, and many step-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 5th at Robarts Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Graveside services and burial are at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Campground Cemetery with Mr. Edwin Caban officiating.
