Myrtle Lawson Knight, 87, of Wauchula, died Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Florida Hospital Wauchula. Born May 28, 1924 in Nauvoo, Alabama, she was a resident of Wauchula for 66 years. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Wauchula and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlin Knight. Survivors are her son, Desmond Knight of Chiefland; two daughters, Priscilla (Ronnie) Kelley of Wauchula and Yvonne (Tom) Hackle of Indian Lake Estates; four grandchildren, Jessica (Chris) Gordon, Wes (Jessica) Knight, Brock (Jessi) Grantham, and Shane Grantham; six great-grandchildren, Caleb McCoy and Carter Gordon, Kyri and Edyn Grantham, and Levi and Dillon Knight.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Northside Baptist Church with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Davin Canary and Rev. Mitch Landress will officiate. Interment is at Wauchula Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the local Alzheimer's Association or the charity of one's choice.
