Ovita Maebelle Klein, 83, passed away on August 31, 2026 in Wauchula, Florida. She was born on April 5, 1943 in Georgia to Woodrow Merchant and Missouri Chavis Merchant before relocating to Wauchula, Florida. She spent her life as a Homemaker and Agricultural laborer, caring for her family and the land. Maebelle enjoyed fishing, sewing, and cooking. She loved being with her family and her dog PeeWee.

She is preceded in death by both parents, as well as her husband Edward Klein Jr.
She is survived by her sons Dennis Klein(Laurie) of Wauchula, Florida, and David Klein(Gale) of Madison, Florida; her daughters Ovita Kilgore(Edward Sr) of Zolfo Springs, Florida, and Charlotte Vickery of Wauchula, Florida; her brother Elwood Merchant(Pam) of Wauchula, Florida, her sister Sheila Merchant of
Augusta, Georgia, 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at the Robarts Garden Chapel on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 10:00am, followed by funeral services at 11:00 A.M. , burial at New Hope Cemetery. Pastor Wendell Smith will be officiating.
