Patricia Jean Grimes Klinger

Born on October 26, 1955, Patty went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on June 20, 2023 in Gainesville, FL. The daughter of Murry Grimes and Ruth Grimes, she grew up in Hialeah, FL with her older brother, David. She graduated from Hialeah High School and went on to pursue her place in life. Patty’s personality was infectious - hilarious and witty with a deep sense of independence. The longest part of her career was with Century Link. She lived and worked in Avon Park, FL before the company transferred her to Ocala, FL. Patty remained in Ocala and eventually retired there. In 2015 Patty and Stephen Klinger met. The rest is history. They fell in love and married in June 2016. Stephen was the light of Patty’s life. Now her life was complete. Patty had a love for dogs of all kinds. It was not an uncommon sight to see her with a dog in her arms, or in the case of her Great Dane, a dog on the ground. Throughout her adult life, her furry family accompanied her wherever she went. Eventually, she raised a dachshund and a basset hound, which she loved like her own children! They literally were her best friends, and she took great pains to give them a comfortable life. When it came to colors, PINK and SPARKLY were what defined Patty! She said, “there is no such thing as too much pink or too much sparkly”. Through the years Patty made it a point to be at family functions and always offered to help in any way that she could. With a big heart and a love for her family and friends, it was always a fun time when she was there. There was no one with a better sense of humor, witty comebacks, and wry remarks than Patty! She could always make you laugh. Even through her years battling cancer, she could always find the humor in something. She fought hard, and together with her faith in Jesus Christ, she overcame some rough times. Patty loved the Lord with all of her heart. She knew she would be in the arms of Jesus one day. We know that is where she is right now. Patty is survived by her loving husband Stephen Klinger, her brother David Grimes, her nephew Nicholas Grimes, her great-nephew Nathan Wayne, her step-daughters Shannon Dusindang and Rachel Klinger Cain, and her grandchildren Anthony Dusindang III. Zacchaeus Cain, and Atticus Cain. She is predeceased by her father Murry Grimes, her mother Ruth Grimes, her niece Nicole Whitten and her great-niece Taylor Nicole. The world has lost some of its sparkle. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Wauchula, with visitation from 10:00 AM until service time. Pastor Michael Davis of Olivet Baptist Church of Ocala, and Mr. Gary Moore will officiate. Interment is in Wauchula Cemetery. To honor Patty, the family invites you to wear pink.
