Obituary

Pedro (Peter) Luis Bonet was lifted out of his pain and suffering on the hard, cold pavement of Wauchula, Florida into the arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ, on November 5, 2023. He will finally have a permanent home. Pedro was loved and very well-known by many people in the community. He was united with his family in the last few months of his life and remained in contact with them throughout his last journey in life.
Pedro was an avid football fan. He loved the game at all levels from Peewee, through collegiate, and on up to the pros. In days gone by, we could always find him with his children, huddled around the TV watching the games. That is, unless he was out in the Florida Keys surrounded by his family, fishing until the sun went down. He loved all sports and passed down his interest to those who loved him.
As a CDL driver, Pedro drove the oil tankers all over the East Coast for years.
Pedro is survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Mildred Ivette Herrera, his son Pedro Bonet, Jr. of Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Abel Bonet, and family Elizabeth Avalos Bonet, Abel Bonet, Jr., Isaias and Jeremiah Bonet of Homestead, FL, daughter Stacy Bonet (PA) and children: Jomar Joel Vicens, and Jeandiel Ángel Rivera and Pedro's youngest son, Emanuel Bonet (PA) and children: Jocelyn, Jasmine, Moses Noel, and Jenesis Mariah Bonet.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at The First Methodist Church, 3401 Suwannee St, Zolfo Springs, FL, 33890 on December 2, 2023, at 1:00 PM. All family, friends, and neighbors are welcome.
A big thank you goes out to the following organizations who jointly assisted Pedro: Heartland Rural Health Network, Alpha & Omega, Hardee Help Center, and Florida Rural Legal Services. These organizations jointly came together on behalf of Pedro and gave him a glimpse of light finally coming his way!
Rest in Peace, Pedro Luis Bonet!
