Philip Andrew Smith Jr., affectionately known as Andy, 44, passed away on July 10, 2023, in Wauchula, Florida. He was born on May 11, 1979, in Avon Park, Florida, and was a lifelong resident of Hardee County.
Andy had a passion for fishing and working on cars. He found solace and joy in spending time outdoors, casting his line into the water, and tinkering with engines. These hobbies brought him great happiness throughout his life.
Andy was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Sandra Smith. He is survived by his father, Philip Smith Sr. of Wauchula, Florida, and his loving wife, Mary Smith. He leaves behind three children: Christopher Smith of South Carolina, Michael Smith of Gastonia, North Carolina, and Sandra Smith of Gastonia, North Carolina.
In addition to his immediate family, Andy is survived by his sister, Sharon Smith, and her husband, Eric, of Avon Park, Florida. He also leaves behind three nieces, ten nephews, three great-nieces, and one great-nephew, all of whom will cherish his memory.
Andy will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. May his kind and adventurous spirit forever live on in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.
A private family service was held on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Robarts Garden Chapel.
