Ramon Valdez, Jr., 74, of Wauchula, died October 19, 2009 in Sebring. He was born December 21, 1934 in San Antonio, TX and came to Hardee County in 1965. He worked as a laborer in agriculture and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. Mr. Valdez was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita, son, Armando, and brother, Adam. Survivors include 7 sons, Elias, Joe, and Arturo Valdez, and Christopher Lopez, all of Wauchula; 6 daughters, Maria Cabrera, Alicia Rivas, Rebecca Rios, Melba Rodriguez, Katherine Martinez, and Esperanza Valdez, all of Wauchula; 4 brothers, Pete, Santos, and Jim Valdez, all of Wauchula; and Raul Valdez of Georgia; 4 sisters, Olivia Salas of Zolfo Springs, Sally Coronado of Lakeland, Eva Bargas and Juanita Vargas, both of TX; 137 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation is Thursday, Oct. 22nd from 6-8 p.m. at Robarts Garden Chapel. Funeral Mass is Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church with interment at Wauchula Cemetery.
