Roy Bernard Barnett, Jr."Catfish Man", 65, of Wauchula, Florida passed away at his home on Friday, July 9, 2021. Roy was born in Wauchula on April 24, 1956 and had been a lifelong resident of Hardee County. He was Protestant by faith, and worked with Irrigation and Grove Pumps as a foreman.

Roy was preceded in death by his father, Roy Bernard Barnett, Sr. Survivors include his wife, Alma Barnett of Wauchula; mother, Exie Lovett Barnett of Wauchula; step-sons, Cecil Lee Colson and Lucas Allen Colson, both of Avon Park; sisters and brothers-in-law, Regina and Fred Lawrence of Kansas, Daisy and Charles Scarbrough of Lake City, FL, and Teresa and Doyle Staton of Wauchula; sisters-in-law, Mary Frances Keen of Avon Park, Josie Lee Miller of Clewiston, FL, and Betty Sue Story of Avon Park.

Visitation for Roy will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021 at Robarts Garden Chapel from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Funeral services are at 3:00 PM with Rev. Doyle Staton officiating.
