Santos Cervantes, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025, in North Carolina at the age of 93. She was born on November 1, 1931, in La Porte, Texas, to Isabel Sanchez and Andrea Ybarra Sanchez. Santos was a cherished member of the Hardee County community, having made it her home since 1976. A devoted member of Saint Michael's Catholic Church, Santos was known for her unwavering faith and commitment to her community. She dedicated many years of her life to the agriculture industry, where she worked tirelessly to support her family and contribute to the local economy. Santos was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Juan Cervantes, and sons Juan Angel Cervantes, and Carlos Javier Cervantes. She is survived by her loving sons, Guadalupe Cervantes (Hermalinda) of Texas, Javier Cervantes (Dora Lisa) of North Carolina, daughters Esmeralda Lopez (Alfonso) of North Carolina, and Maria Rita Carreno (Victor) of Wauchula, Florida. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. A Visitation will be held at Robarts Garden Chapel on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 6 PM to 8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 10 AM at Saint Michael Catholic Church. Santos Cervantes will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her spirit and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
