Miss Shirley Marie Newberry was born February 12, 1937. A unique and special person, she was born to Mother Louise Godwin and father Shirley E. Newberry. Shirley needed assistance to help her get the most out of life. Shirley came to Hardee County and lived in the Gilliard's Group Home in Hardee county with Tippie and Pastor Ronnie Gilliard and ran by Edna Smith. When the Gilliard's retired she moved to Poinciana for a short while before coming back to Hardee County. Moving into Hardee Homes Inc. where she lived out her life with abundant joy. Shirley was a very kind woman especially shy it took her awhile to let someone in her inner circle, but once she did you had a friend. Shirley loved her cell phone, balloons, The Velveteen Rabbit, good food and gentle people. When Shirley came to Hardee Homes Inc. she began to blossom open up and coming out of her shell and living life... She loved to dine out in her community and cheeseburgers at the bowling Ally was her favorite! Shirley became sick in January 2013 and became more and more dependent on her caregivers. If Shirley were here she would tell you her life was great and she loved Brenda, Nancy, Veronica, Tonya, Xochail, Vanni, Angie, Evelia, and Shelby with all her heart..... These Folks allowed Shirley to blossom and really appreciate life!! Shirley enhanced her community and her circle of friends and caretakers with her inner beauty and kind nature.
