Shirley Helen Taylor 91, passed away peacefully at her home on June 1, 2024, preceeded by her husband Elmer. Mrs Taylor was a long time resident of Arcadia and was affectionately known as "Grandma Shirley". She is survived by her Daughters Debi Gilmore (Donnie), Cathleen Roberts (Richard), Theresa Stone, and her brother Jimmy Peters (Kathy). Shirley had 12 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren. Grandma Shirley was truly in love with her family.

She loved Calvery Baptist Church, teaching Sunday school, Bible School, and volunteering wherever needed.

Shirley was an award winning artist, illustrator and author, and a member of the Desoto Arts Center. We remember her contagious sense of humor, how she loved teaching art to children at the Desoto Public Library, and in her home. She cherished the outdoors, boating with Elmer and the kids, her dog, and playing the piano. We will all remember her prayerful blessings.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 48 N.15th Ave., in Arcadia on Sunday, June 30 at 4 pm.
